had a productive meeting with @jazzercb to work on planning a 5k in the spring for his foundation

5K Planning

I had the first meeting with Dr. Broeder to discuss details, about the upcoming 5K that our AMSA will be holding and organizing for his foundation; he seemed very excited, and was very helpful. This is hopefully going to be a great event, and have a decent turn out, we are working on lining up funding and sponsors currently. The projected date for the race is one of the first two Saturdays of April. Dr. Broeder wants to attach some sort of performance seminar to the race, on the Friday night preceding the race. This seems like it will hopefully be a great success.

A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more. Nobody is going to win a 5,000 meter race after running an easy 2 miles. Not with me. If I loose forcing the pace all the way, well, at least I can live with myself.

Is getting ready for a busy week.

why does orgo have to be so impossibly hard #ihateorgo

You have to wonder at times what you’re doing out there. Over the years, I’ve given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.
